In the spirit of discovering and spreading ideas, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxADMU, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxADMU event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

May 25, 2024, Hyundai Hall, Areté, Ateneo de Manila University

This year, TEDxADMU will be titled TEDxADMU: Genesis. Genesis is a word of countless connotations, to some, it reflects the first chapter of the bible, to others, a new saga or beginning; even concepts such as generation and genetics come to mind with Genesis.

While every individual has their own interpretation of Genesis, the word genesis can also be attributed to Aggiornamento, an idea where the past and previous traditions are taken, revived, and even bridged upon for countless shifts in thought. Genesis offers beginnings, breakthroughs, and more! However, not all beginnings are good; some even are detrimental to other people's lives. This juxtaposition of the norm and the alternative, alongside its effects, sheds a light on angles people have yet to see through the framework of the past, present, and future.

Beginning to understand how our past shaped the present.

Beginning to shape the portrait of our present by reclaiming socio-cultural narratives.

Beginning to use our present in innovative ways that can better empower and shape the future generation.
